LIVING WATER: the ice shivered 2012
digital print 80 x 110 cm
Five limited edition digital prints. Each print is an enlarged scan of a unique iced ink drawing on glass, ephemeral works continually evolving and transforming until refrozen in a moment of time through digital capture.
The series is an exploration, both personal and environmental, which has enabled me to form a partnership with the work and materials over a period of time.
Through this poetic transformation of melting ice-water, I am able to enter into a meditation on the relationship of my art practice to my life practice.
I am lost in Big Blue
I bring water from a distant spring
I feel as though great waters weep
I skate on the thin ice of memory
I close my eyes and feel the flow of the river
